The murdered Iranian blogger Sattar Beheshti

Iranian blogger and activist, Sattar Beheshti was killed while in custody in Kahrizak detention, according to reports from inside Iran.

Beheshti, 35, was targeted by authorities for his online activities, and was arrested at his home in Robat-Karim in the southwest of Tehran last week. After one week in custody, authorities informed Beheshti’s family of his death, and requested they pick up his body.

In an interview Beheshti’s Mother stated:”It was around noon and I was at home when I heard noises at the entrance of our home. I opened the door and an individual asked me whether Sattar was home. Someone yelled while I tried to close the door shut. I tried to explain that my daughter may not be dressed appropriately, but they ignored my warning, entered the home and confiscated my son’s belongings, computer, notes and manuscripts.”

“They wouldn’t even allow my son to change his clothes before they took him. I asked one of the agents to untie his hands so he could change his clothes. They eventually did untie his hand and since that day I have had no news of my son. I have no idea where they took him. Our relatives informed me that the media outlets had published news regarding Sattar reportedly having bruises all over his body (arms, legs and face) and that the interrogators had refused to grant him medical treatment.”

According to reports from inside Iran, political prisoners in Evin’s general ward 350, encountered Beheshti, and detailed extensive signs of torture on his body.

In an interview, Behesthi’s Sister stated that authorities had called the house and said; ”Buy a casket and show up tomorrow to collect his body” they said. That’s it! We know nothing else! We have no idea why they killed him! We have no idea what transpired. My brother left the house healthy. He left voluntarily. Everyone witnessed that he was healthy. My brother never even took headache medicine. He was 100% healthy!”

“”He was my brother! Oh God! Oh God! … He was my brother… They killed my brother and told us they’d deliver his body tomorrow!”

” They told us not to give any interviews. We were told not to say a word. They said he had heart problems. What exactly had my brother done? He had done nothing! What had he said to deserve this? Three people came on that day. They handcuffed him and took him without an explanation. Not a word was said and it ended like this!”

Before his arrest, Beheshti wrote a lengthy blog post detailing the threats he had received;

They threatened me that my mother should prepare herself to wear black clothes indicating my killing, or that if I didn’t close my big mouth; they would make sure it would always stay opened for prayers.

If I write anything I hear and see, they will deal with me in any way that they want until I shut up otherwise they would make sure that I would be silenced without leaving any marks and signs for anyone to know what happened to me! “You will be in no one’s memory and you are a traitor to this nation!”

My intentions are not against my nation thus I’m not a traitor, I love my people, you are the real traitors in our country who does this to our people!

Day and night they threaten us with phone calls and letters, I can’t be be silenced with every expression because I’m an Iranian! I cannot be silenced against this suffering and tragedy!

Khamenei’s Judiciary Plan for mass executions of the prisoners in Gohardasht prison

According to the reports received by the “Human Rights and Democracy Advocates in Iran”, the judiciary of Vali Faghih, Mullah Ali Khamenei has commenced planning for mass execution of the prisoners in Gohardasht prison during the last few weeks.
A board appointed by Ali Khamenei’s judiciary has been established in Karaj Gohardasht prison within the last few weeks, headed by a person called “Najafabadi”, one of the deputies to Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, the Tehran Attorney General. This person gives some forms to the prisoners that have been convicted to death sentence and urges them to fill in the forms.  
These forms, in addition to the personal specifications, confront the convicted prisoner with the major highlighted question that “Why your death sentence has not been executed yet?”   
Initially most of the sentenced to death prisoners refused filling out these forms; but in the subsequent stage, those aborting prisoners were called individually by Najafabadi and were obliged to filing the relevant form and the same question asking “Why your death sentence has not been executed yet?” was asked emphatically.
Such forms have been distributed among all the sentenced to death prisoners in different wards of the Gohardasht prison and they are required to fill them out.
In this phase, the plaintiffs of the convicted to death prisoners are called on and are put under pressure to ask for execution punishment of the prisoner or pay the required costs for keeping them in prison to the State Prisons and Security Corrective Measures Organization. The requested amounts are high and practically the plaintiffs are unable to pay them off; so they are persuaded this way to request for executing the prisoner’s death punishment decree.  
Vali Faghih, Mullah Ali Khamenei seeks legitimating of his deeds through adopting this method from the one hand, and intensifying the fear climate in the society by mass execution of his violence victims.       
It is reported that more than 1,000 inmates await execution in the Gohardasht prison of Karaj.

UN General Assembly 3rd Committee strongly condemns Iran on gross human rights violations

The United Nations General Assembly’s Third Committee strongly condemned the clerical dictatorship ruling Iran over executions, torture of prisoners and human rights violations, the UN Website reported.
The Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Iran in his speech in the Third Committee called on Iran to release all political prisoners and executions to be halted.
Furthermore, representatives of various countries across the world including the European Union, United States, United Kingdom, Norway, Canada, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Brazil condemned Iran for its crimes and called for a still in the executions.
UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran Ahmad Shaheed’s 23-page report to the UN General Assembly states that political prisoners continue to be deprived of medical services which have led to the death of at least two prisoners including Mansour Radpoor in Gohardasht Prison, west of Tehran. These reports also indicated the deteriorating health of political prisoners that are faced with poor hygiene conditions, deprived of adequate food and very rare access to their family members.
It is worth noting that PMOI member Mansour Radpoor passed away in May of this year in Gohardasht Prison after enduring 5 years in jail in the mullahs’ dungeons while enduring inhuman pressures imposed by the regime’s henchmen, interrogators and torturers. He bravely stood for the freedom of the Iranian people.
Following the Special Rapporteur’s speech, representatives of various countries in their speeches condemned human rights violations in Iran under the mullahs’ dictatorship. They called on the Special Rapporteur for measures to impel the regime to abide by its international obligations.
The US representative said repression in Iran is far worse than dreadful. Torture and execution of political prisoners are examples of violating international covenants of political and civil rights. Many in Iran are sentenced to death without undergoing any judicial procedure merely for attempting to practice their right of freedom.
The European Union delegation said it is deeply concerned over the human rights situation in Iran because all five global conventions on human rights are being violated by Iran. It is necessary, they added, for the trend of executions in Iran to be taken into special consideration.
Condemning human rights violations and executions in Iran, the UK representative called the Special Rapporteur for urgent action in this regard.
The Canadian representative condemned torture and other cruel punishments enforced by the Iranian regime, saying it is deeply concerned over the human rights situation in Iran. The Canadian envoy expressed worries over depriving rights, including freedom of speech and assembly and restrictions against women in Iran.
Also, the Norwegian representative expressed concerns over the widespread human rights violations and demanded the release of political prisoners.
Representatives of various countries including Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Brazil called for international action to stop executions in Iran.
Iran’s representative in this session had an outburst response in this session to the wave of condemnations from the Special Rapporteur and various countries.
Why aren’t human rights violations in Canada, the European Union and US taken into consideration, the mullahs’ representative complained.
It is worth noting that in contrast to previous sessions where the regime’s allies, consisting of various governments who themselves have records of human rights violations, rose in defense of the mullahs, in this year’s session only China – the world record holder in executions – supported Iran.It is Iran’s choice how to protect human rights, the Chinese government representative said in its infamous defense of the bloodthirsty mullahs ruling Iran.

Call for saving 10 Baloch political prisoners who are on the verge of execution

According to the reports received by the “Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran”, 10 Balochi fellow political prisoners are on the verge of execution in supreme mullah Ali Khamenei’s prisons. 

General department of Intelligence Ministry (IM) and Mohammad Marziyeh, the attorney general of Zahedan have informed these prisoners’ families that they intend to make the Eid ul Adha bitter for them and have mentioned the names of at list 10 prisoners that they are planned to be executed throughout the next days.

The names of Balochi fellow political prisoners whose families have been threatened for executing their children death sentence decree are as follows:

1- Rigi, Hamzeh, 19 years old Political prisoner; He was arrested nearly 3 years ago by the IM interrogators and is jailed in solitary confinements until now; He has undergone the toughest physical and psychological tortures by the IM interrogators. He has been on hunger strike for 25 days now in protest at being held for prolonged time in solitary confinements. He has been convicted to death sentence and is waiting for being executed.

2- Rigi, Abdulvahab. He was 17 years old when he was arrested in October 2010. He was exiled to Qazvin prison as of April this year and was jailed together with dangerous non-political prisoners despite his young age. He has been sentenced to death in initial trial. He is a brother of the Late Abdolbaset Rigi, the freedom fighter martyr who was executed a few days ago in a blind retaliation together with 2 other political prisoners in Zahedan prison.

3- Rigi, Mehrollah. He was 17 years old when he was arrested in October 2010 in a raid by the MI officers and was put under intolerable physical and psychological tortures by the IM interrogators. He was tried without a lawyer for a few minutes and was convicted to death. This teenager political prisoner is now exiled in Semnan jail.

4- Miyaei, Salman, 26; he was arrested in late 2010 in Chabahar; after months of spending in solitary confinements and undergoing physical and psychological tortures, he was sentenced to death; this political prisoner is now exiled in Khoramabad prison and is awaiting for being executed.

5- Shojaei, Navid, 26 years old; he was arrested in March 2011 and after months of physical and psychological tortures by the IM interrogators, he was trialed without attorney and the right of self-defense in Zahedan branch of Revolutionary Court and was sentenced to death; this political prisoner is now jailed in Zahedan prison and is awaiting for inhuman punishment of execution.

6- Riginezhad Shoraki, Habibollah; 32 years old (Born in 1980); he was arrested 4 years ago following a raid by the IM officers and spent about 18 months in IM department solitary confinements under physical and psychological tortures. He was charged with kidnapping and upon arrest, he was tied to a bed that was called “the miracle Bed” by the IM interrogators. His nails were pulled out and he was tortured by the electric shocker many times for long periods and they used different types of torture to make him confess false confessions. In the court, the plaintiff admitted that this prisoner was not among the kidnappers. This political prisoner was taken hostage for mere his family name ‘Rigi’ and just because he was a next-door neighbor to Abdolmalik Rigi. The ex-interrogator of IM which is currently the head of the Revolutionary Court, Zahedan branch has issued death sentence against him. He is now in ward 4 of Zahedan prison, waiting for his inhuman punishment of execution.

7- Bahram Zehi, Ayoub, 29. He was arrested in November 2010 in Sarbaz city. He was convicted to death sentence by the Revolutionary Court, Zahedan branch and was exiled in May this year, possibly to Khorramabad jail.

8- Vekalat, Ayoub, 20. He was arrested in 2009 in Chabahar city. He was convicted to death sentence by the Revolutionary Court, Zahedan branch and is waiting for his inhuman punishment of execution.

9- Hosseinzehi, Bashir Ahmad, 27. He was arrested in 2010 in Saravan city. He was convicted to death sentence by branch 1 of Zahedan Revolutionary Court. He is now in ward 4 of Zahedan prison, waiting for his inhuman punishment of execution.

10- Shahuzehi, Abdulkhaliq; He is now waiting for execution of his death sentence.

All the Baloch patriot political prisoners in Sistan and Balochistan province are tried in branch one of Zahedan Revolutionary Court by a parson called “Maagholi”. This against humanity criminal is one of the ex-interrogators of Intelligence Ministry. He, addressing one of the Baloch fellow political prisoners who objected him for inhuman behavior, said: “I have executed about 100 people and have ordered amputation of many prisoners. Now you are objecting me! You will be regretful for your objection.” Finally he issued death sentence decree for this intent prisoner.

Most of the Baloch fellow political prisoners are arrested for mere familial relationship and are charged with false allegations, aiming at issuing execution sentence against them. Mohammad Marziyeh, the attorney general of Zahedan has told the political prisoners’ families that he will hang their captive children in case any anti-regime operation occurs in the province. He fulfilled his words and hanged three political prisoners during the past few days.

Mullah Ali Khamenei’s regime currently being on the brink of public protests, for the purpose of creating an atmosphere of fear has unbelievably intensified group execution of the political prisoners and other youngsters with different justifications. Therefore, for the purpose of clarifying the truths, we urge the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to send the UN Special Rapporteur for investigating about the false allegations attributed to the political and non-political prisoners in order to legitimate the uninterrupted wave of executions.

Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran warns about the imminent execution of 10 Baloch fellow political prisoners and requests the compatriots inside Iran and abroad to adopt widespread objection measures to halt Mullah Ali Khamenei’s machine of execution. We urge the UN Secretary General, High Commissioner for Human Rights, and UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights to refer Ali Khamenei’s case to the international courts for trial to end the against humanity deeds of Iranian regime.

Group Execution of 3 inmates in Gohardasht Karaj Prison

Group Execution of Three inmates in Karaj, Gohardasht Prison:

According to the report of human right and democracy advocacy group in Iran, 3 inmates who were transferred to solidarity confinement in Gohardasht prison, were hanged This morning.
Today, Wednesday, October 24th of 2012, 3 prisoners from section 5 known for juvenal, and section 6th of Gohardasht prison were executed. These three prisoners were transferred to solidarity confinement from section5 and 6th of the prison.
The name of the three inmates are as follow:
1) Shahrooz, borne 1984 2) Mohamad Dastmozd from 17th hallway of section 6th of Gohardasht Prison of Karaj, who was imprisoned since 2004. 3) Sadegh Koohi, 27 years old, who has spent more than 8 years in prison.
Economic pressure, high cost of living, poverty and unemployment has caused people loose their patience and push them to their limit. However, Ayatollah Khamenei has terrorized people, and has dramatically raised the number of execution, and hysterically mass killing: Ultimately we are calling on our fellow Iranians inside Iran, to gather in front of The Cleric leader's palace, and force him to stop the executions and more over, we ask our fellow patriot Iranians in abroad to gather in front of United Nation offices to demand for immediate refer Ali Khamenehei and the Iranian regime to Security console and to be trialed for crime against humanity

Ahmad Shahrezaie, the political activist student was arrested following a raid by the Intelligence Ministry (IM) Interrogators and taken to an unknown place

According to the news received by the “Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran”, Ahmad Shahrezaie, the political activist student was arrested by the IM officers and taken to an unknown location.
On Tuesday, October 23, 2012, around 10 O’clock in the morning when he was heading for the garrison where he was doing military service, a number of IM interrogators stopped and arrested him and took him with themselves.
Ahmad Shahrezaie once was arrested before, on Saturday, June 12, 2010 in front of Tehran University while he was wearing a headband with the slogan: “Death to Khameneie”. He was put under physical and psychological tortures by the interrogators in the IM torture chambers and was then convicted for 18 month of jail sentence based on the case building; He was released on December 2011 after passing his prison term.
On10th of October, 2012, when the IM officers raided several young people’s houses in Shahriyar and Karaj area, Ahmad was not home. In these series of barbaric raids, Mohebbi, the IM chief interrogator was the commanding officer. They stormed into the Late Amir Hussein Saran’s house and arrested Babak Saran. Houman Armandi, Mehdi Samadi and Vahid Barghi were also arrested, and except for Vahid Barghi who was released a few days later, others are still in jail.
Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran condemns arresting, imprisonment in solitary confinements, physical and psychological tortures for taking fake confessions, case building and issuing heavy sentences for the political prisoners and urges the High Commissioner for Human Rights and other international authorities to refer the supreme mullah Ali Khamenei’s case to the international courts for trial.

Tension and public anger throughout the Baluchistan province due to the intelligence ministry interrogators’ intent for exhumation of an executed political prisoner

According to the reports received by the “Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran”, following the inhumane execution of 3 fellow Baluch political prisoners in Zahedan city, the provincial capital of Baluchistan Province of Iran, the interrogators refused to surrender the corpses of the executed prisoners to their families, but Rigi family ignoring the inhumane behavior of the interrogators and insisting on their basic rights, attempted to take Abdulbaset’s body from the mortuary, and moved it to the cemetery for the funeral ceremony.

On the other hand, the intelligence ministry interrogators and the Mullahs’ regime security forces in the province are extremely angry because of their inability to satisfy their inhumane intention for secretly burying the bodies. Hence, they seek as of yesterday, to exhume the grave and transfer this freedom fighter martyr’s corps to an unknown place for burying. It should be noted that exhumation is known as the worst insult to a dead based on the dominant culture in this region.

The Rigi family and the city residents are present there, beside the tomb of their loved ones and have been able to obstruct the regime’s agents intention until now. They have insisted that in case the officers want to execute their will, massive protests would certainly occur throughout the province with unpredictable dimensions.

The Prosecutor in a completely false statement yesterday attributed the Zahedan mosque explosion to Abdulbaset Rigi for justification and legitimacy of these inhuman executions; this is while no reference is made to such accusations in the existing lawsuit.

Abdulbast Rigi was an internet activist who leaked out the human rights violations’ news. To clarify the issue, the Mullah’s regime must allow an impartial international investigation committee to look into the facts, not behind the doors of torturing chambers, and nor in the rooms, so called the ‘courts’ in which the Intelligence Ministry interrogators issue death sentence verdicts against defendants. The prosecutor's statement also claimed that their sentences were upheld by the Supreme Court; however, neither the accused nor their families were aware of such a lie.

The bodies of 2 other executed fellow Baluch political prisoners, Abduljalil Karazehi, 24, who was arrested in December 2010 in his hometown, Khash city, and Yahya Charizehi, 24, arrested in Iranshahr, were not delivered to their families and buried in unknown places. The regime agents deprived these two families of their right for holding a funeral ceremony for the corpses of their loved ones.

In order to halt such prevarication and inhumanity executions under different justifications, especially against the political prisoners, “Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran” urges the UN to send a fact-finding committee for investigating and clarifying the facts and ending the mass execution of political prisoners in Iran.

“Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran” condemns the execution of these three fellow Baluchi political prisoners as a crime against humanity, and urges the UN Secretary General, High Commissioner for Human Rights, and UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights to refer Ali Khamenei’s case of against humanity deeds to the international courts for trial.

Mullahs’ Regime Executes 3 Baluchi fellow political prisoners in Zahedan, Iran

According to the reports received by the “Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran” (HRDAI), three Baluchi fellow prisoners Abdolbaset Rigi, Abdoljalil Kahrazehi and Yahya Chari Zehi were hanged in Zahedan prison at dawn this morning on charge of Moharebeh (enmity against God).

On Sunday, October 21, 2012 in a blind and inhumane revenge by Ali Khamenei’s mullahs’ regime, three fellow Baluch political prisoners were hanged in Zahedan prison. Two of them were moved into solitary confinements from the torture chambers of Ministry of Intelligence and the other, Abdolbaset Rigi, 25, was removed from the general ward of the prison around 15:00 PM on Saturday 20th of October and was sent to the solitary confinement for executing the inhumane death sentence.  

Political prisoner, Abdulbaset Rigi was an Internet activist who published the human rights violations’ news in Sistan and Baluchestan province. He was arrested 3 years ago and spent about 11 mouths in solitary confinements of Department of Intelligence Ministry under the most severe physical and psychological tortures and was forced into televised confessions against himself.

On the other hand, he was only sentenced to death in the lower court and even his conviction had not upheld by the Supreme Court. The courageous political prisoner, Abdulbaset Rigi actively leaked out the human rights violations’ news occurring in the Zahedan prison.       

Previously all the families of political prisoners in Zahedan had been threatened by the Department of Intelligence Ministry that if anything happens in the province, their imprisoned children will be executed. In fact, a few days ago the Zahedan city prosecutor Mohammad Marzieh said the local news agencies that he will soon take revenge.

Political prisoner Abdulvahab Rigi, brother of freedom fighter martyr Abdulbaset Rigi, who was arrested in September 2010 at age 17, in May this year following a hunger strike by Baluch prisoners to protest the medieval conditions of Zahedan prison, was exiled to Qazvin prison alongside dangerous criminals. He is also sentenced to death.

Almost all Baluch political prisoners simply because their relatives had been involved in political activities are being held in prison as hostages.
