A rare photo of group execution of 59 Kurds by the IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps) in Dec. 1980 |
According to
the reports received by the “Human Rights Activists for Democracy in Iran”
(HRDAI), at least 7 Kurd Sunni fellow prisoners of conscience were hanged in
Ghezelhesar prison of Karaj.
On Thursday, December 27, 2012, at least 7 Kurd Sunni fellow inmates, most of them
from Sanandaj (the capital of Kurdistan
Province, Iran) were
executed in courtyard of Ghezelhesar Karaj prison.
On Wednesday, December 26, 2012, some 12 Kurd Sunni fellow prisoners of
conscience were transferred into the solitary confinements to put their
inhuman and
medieval decree of death sentence into effect; seven of them were hanged and
the rest were returned back to their cells.
The Sunni prisoners of conscience had long been exiled into the
solitary confinements of hall 9 of Ghezelhesar Karaj prison from Gohardasht
Karaj prison and were deprived of the right of having contacts with other
prisoners and their families until the moment they were executed.
Mullahs’ regime
some time ago started making preparations for legitimating of broad executions through
filmed faked histrionics of grabbing and sending such footage to Persian TVs
and uploading them onto the YouTube. HRDAI has warned before of the regime’s
intent to commit such widespread executions during the Christmas and New Year
holidays.
Human Rights Activists for Democracy in Iran condemns the group execution of at least 7 Kurd
Sunni fellow prisoners of conscience in Gezelhesar Karaj prison. We urge the UN High
Commissioner for Human Rights and other international authorities to
refer the Mullah Ali Khamenei’s dossier to the international courts for ending
violations of human rights and crime against humanity in Iran.
